The machine can be schematized as well as composed of a carriage for vertical movement over which a decoiler roller is located. Both movements are hydraulic. A lifting platform positioned in front of the machine allows the operator to rise or lower by pressing foot pedal commands.
Once the oil pressure control unit has been turned on by means of the start button, all necessary operations are performed by two hydraulic command levers: one lever operates the transfer of the carriage and the other the rotation of the roller.
At the beginning the carriage is in the up position with the platform in a position which is comfortable for the operator. The animal, which is hung by the hind legs from the conveyor hooks, is then positioned in front of the machine and an operator lifts a section of skin from the back part of the animal. The skin is then attached to the decoiler roller by means of special chains. At this point the operator must perform the flaying of the animal by operating, at the same time, the two levers to make the carriage drop and wrap the skin around the decoiler roller. The speed of both movements must be regulated by the operator, working on the levers depending on the requirements of each single head of cattle.
