The machine consists of a conveyor belt for the forced conveyance of ovine and swine towards the slaughterhouse.
It is made up of two AISI 304 stainless steel sides supported by galvanised tubular spacers which are flanged and bolted to give rigidity to the structure. Onto this structure the supports of the rollers and rubber coated belts are secured, which are pulled by sheaved pulleys to which the ridge of the belt is wedged to avoid it slipping downwards. Special intermediate rollers, also having idlers and sheaves on their shafts, act as a contrast against the thrust applied by the body of the animal during its transportation towards the slaughterhouse. Special motorised rams permit to regulate the distance between the two sides in relation to the size of the animal. The adjustment is performed by operating both sides at the same timeso as to guarantee the centre line of the machine in relation to the feed passage.
Once the movement of the main conveyor belts has been starter with the start button, the machine automatically manages the electronarcosis of the animals, performed by means of a carriage which is controlled by a pneumatic cylinder without rod. A photocell signals that the animal is in the interested area and with the opportune delay, which can be regulated by means of a timer, the piston which moves the electrode carriage is operated. The carriage, in the rear position with electrodes up, moves forward lowering the electrodes for the electronarcosis. At the end of the movement, consent to the stunner is removed and a mechanical cam lifts the electrodes. The command to the pneumatic valve is then removed to allow the carriage to return with the electrodes up position ready for the next animal.
The machine can be stopped by means of the stop button or, in cases of emergency, by means of the mushroom-head push button. The speed of the two conveyor belts can be regulated at the same time by means of a special speed variator selector. By means of another selector the distance of the sides that support the conveyor belts can be changed for a total travel of approximately 300 mm.
